Mercifully, my few rewards for continuing on: most of the actors were really trying their best here, the captain being the best character and actor by a landslide and some drone shots of the open water and boat were really gorgeous. I continued with movie with the premise this is "inspired" by a true story and I enjoyed the similar Open Water franchise. BUT, I could've easily forgiven that if the CGI didn't look so buck-fifty cheap. Blah, blah, been there, many have done that. For shock value and using an old movie trope of beginning at the end so you know this is not going to end well. THIS is what they chose to begin their story with? I get it, immediately. The movie opens showing a boat "on fire" in a body of water with the most incredibly fake looking fire/explosions I've probably ever seen. 20 seconds in, I wanted to turn this off.
